The WEP is a Non-Profit Public Charity Organization (501 c 3 status approved) which raises funds through charitable donations and grants to help women around the world fulfill their educational goals and achieve professional growth. It is through vocational centers, literacy programs, training and placement that we assist in developing opportunities for a better quality of life. As a non-profit, our work is only possible because of the generous donations of our supporters. We are immensely grateful to our sponsors and their constituencies for their continuous support and enthusiasm in preserving our mission and opening the doors to new and improved educational opportunities for the women in our global community. The advisory board is our consultative task force. The individuals chosen are representatives of the beauty industry, entrepreneurs, and professionals from various occupations. There is a total of ten advisers. Advisory Board members are Individuals chosen by the Board of Trustees of WEP to assist in evaluating the agenda, fundraisers and activities of the WEP. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month at 8pm via conference call.

Michelle Morgan Spady Chairwoman of the WEP Advisory Board. Spady Books Headshot Michelle  Morgan Spady, Author and former teacher, and publisher of four books; An Artist and His Obsession; 7 Days 2 Tell; and ShoozyQ and the AB Crew in Bully on the Playground; and her debut novella, Enough was Never Enough. Her children’s book projects were collaborated with her son, Bradford O. Spady, an artist and visual storyteller. Michelle is the VP of Creative Services with B’Artful, LLC in McLean, VA.  B’Artful is a company that empowers, inspires, and promotes emerging authors, and artists by providing them with opportunities, and space to enhance, and exhibit their creative talents. Michelle is featured in the 2015 release of LEGENDARY LOCALS OF MCLEAN by Carole Herrick, and penned two reflections in THE SIDS SURVIVAL GUIDE by Joani Horchler. Michelle is a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, McLean, VA. She resides with her husband and son in McLean.
Dr. Anita Roberts Dr. Anita Robertsis the founder and president of TIA & Associates. TIA & Associates assists firms throughout the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and United States with better business practices. We are a sole proprietorship firm. Dr. Anita Roberts is the principal supervisory and executive management specialist in business consulting for all areas related to business management and development. I am a public accountant. I have a master’s degree in organizational management; graduated summa cum laude, a Juris Doctorate; General Practice, and enrolled in relevant continuing professional educational curriculum; AMA (American Management Association) Assertiveness Training for Women in Business, The Virtual Trainer: Success Strategies for Facilitating and AMA’s Advanced Financial Modeling and Forecasting Workshop; all online seminars.   Married to William C Smith; a developer we currently live between Puerto Rico and St Croix, Atlanta and San Francisco. Together we have a blended family; Margot, Charie, Iyanna and Tiara.   TIA & Associates is a National Recognized Congressional Woman-Owned Business and an Entrepreneur for twelve years who’s has developed successful training programs, created employee handbooks, advised on the best affordable reporting software, and any other equipment and workplace dynamics with great success for small and mid-size firms. We are committed to reviewing documents and analyzing a company’s day-to-day business operations to locate where the deficiencies and opportunities exist, in order to reach and exceed their goals.   TIA & Associates is the USDA grant writer who assists firms in the Virgin Islands with energy grants.  Laquita Thomas-Banks Laquita Thomas-Banks has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland and033-March27 has been professionally writing/editing for over 15 years. She has been ‘doing hair’ for over 25 years. Laquita started her own hair styling business at the age of 13. She loves combining her Journalism skills and knowledge of natural hair by writing about DIY styling/maintenance techniques, bargain product finds, as well as product recipes that she has learned through her natural hair journey. Throughout her career, Laquita has worked for media outlets, both print and online, and has contributed to several natural hair blogs, and online magazines. Currently, she is a fulltime editor and freelance writer. She is also the creator All Naptural blog, which focuses on styling and maintaining natural hair, the DC Natural Hair Examiner for Examiner.com, and CEO of up and coming Bobeam Natural Hair Products.
 Ngozi Bell.  NgoSANATA-58-REVzi Bell was appointed Regional III Advocate by the Federal Government in November 2010. Regional advocates work with Federal, State and Local Policy makers and Leaders, Small Business Stakeholders and Small  Businesses to help identify new issues and concerns around policy and regulations that affect small business owners, and they work closely with the chief counsel for advocacy. Region III comprises Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. Most recently, Bell served as vice president of Birchmere Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm that focuses on investing in and developing startup companies in the medical, cleantech, and technology sectors. Prior to that Bell was a senior director of technology and marketing at LSI, Agere Systems, and Lucent Technologies. She has also worked extensively on small business technology initiatives in the telecom and wireless sectors. In 2005, Bell cofounded a not-for-profit Nigerian–American organization in Pennsylvania that focuses on education, cultural exchange, and economic development. She has also operated a small business in the fashion and small transportation sector. Bell received her master’s degree in electrical engineering from Florida A&M/Florida State University and her bachelor’s degree in physics from University of Port Harcourt in Nigeria.
