SAUNDY BRATTON, National Program Coordinator, U.S. Virgin Islands & Hawaii

On behalf of the Women Empowerment Project, I welcome you to WEP U.S. Virgin Islands Chapter.

I am Saundra Bratton, a Virgin Islander, owner and operator of two Braids Shop in Honolulu, Hawaii where I have resided for the last thirty three years.

My company Braids Hawaii LLC. has been in operation for over 15 years. Although I live outside of the Virgin Islands I return often to enjoy the beauty of our island.  It has always been my desire to give back to our community and especially to the young women whose shoes I once occupied.

It is my passion to give our young women a helping hand in higher education and professionalism in the career of their choice.

The Women Empowerment Project, a non-profit Organization (501c3 status pending) is coming to St Croix. It will provide our young women a chance to help them achieve their dreams. I am fortunate and thankful to be a part o this project.

With over 30 years experience in the braiding and natural hair care industry. My goal is to continue to elevate the braid culture to a level of professionalism,  creativity, and strategic marketing.

With a unique approach to the educational success of students preparing for a career in braiding and cosmetology, my goal is to achieve a reputation of superior knowledge and practical experience. This ensures graduates of this rigorous program the ability to start their own businesses or work in high-level salons setting and seeking their excellence in hair-braiding skills and talents.

This is the beginning of a long-term focus of empowering women to embrace economic prosperity by increasing their ability to compete in the very lucrative business of hair-braiding and cosmetology around the world.

Aloha and Mahalo !!!
