The WEP & the SANATA Int’l Magazine Team in the U.S. Virgin Islands – St. Croix, St. Thomas, St. John

The team received a warm welcome at St. Croix Airport with a Channel 8 TV interview. The National Program Coordinator for the U.S. Virgin Islands and Hawaii (NPC), Saundy Bratton, assisted by the Divas in Paradise”, has been so instrumental to the success of the team’s visit. “Thank you Saundy for that Big Heart and the trust you put in the Women Empowerment Project (WEP)”, said Aziza Yasmine, the Executive Director of the WEP.

The team attended various meeting sessions with students enrolled in Cosmetology program in the Islands and professionals in the Cosmetology field. The team met with the Virgin Islands Department of Labor, attended the Caribbean Dance Academy show and visited the Islands.

We are delighted to announce that young women in the Islands have shown interest in the WEP and have registered. The first group of registered candidates will arrive next month in Alexandria, VA.

Message from Aziza Yasmine, the WEPED
I believe all things are possible when you begin each day with a renewed sense of being. When we rise to face the challenges of the day we are consciously affirming that the creator of all things is merciful. We’ve been given another day and another opportunity to do his work, to be better people, to accomplish a goal, or just make a difference in someone’s life. Today and every day, we must give thanks to God for giving us his grace and mercy and the fortitude to continue on our journey toward success. God’s grace has connected a number of key individuals in the hair and beauty industries, helping us to bridge the gaps in education, entrepreneurialism, and business development. The Women Empowerment Project is well underway, with solid connections in West Africa, the U.S. and Virgin Islands; forging collaborations that are unprecedented. We are charting a course that has never been mastered, we are committed to the success of our program and everyone who has invested time and energy into cultivating and maintaining our foundation. Many thanks to those dedicated individuals; I’m looking forward to the future success of the WEP.
